For the exhibition Dreamhome: stories of art and shelter artist Jeffrey Gibson created a ‘family room’ of an extraordinary kind.
In this interview anGibson discusses his vision for the exuberant environment that celebrates his Choctaw-Cherokee heritage and recognises the power of decorative arts and their cultural narratives. Imbued with a sense of welcoming and belonging, Gibson’s project encourages new forms of encounter and affirms the connectedness of people with the cosmos.
