Jai Schlederer Benediction

My body of work, Benediction, is a series of images based on motion control photography. I used the photographic effect of motion blur in the work to explore how the precise movement of light shining through the stained-glass windows can inspire the feeling of going to heaven. The slight blur expresses the windows' devotional mood, as they illustrate the Bible's stories. The audience can also be attentive to the motion of the background surrounding the light, which represents the church as a quiet place where we go, pray and build an everlasting relationship with God.
