Jim Dawes Revere
My body of work explores the state of being pleasantly lost within the experience of one's mind, using intimate settings that expand from minute snippets of memory to bold representations of a cool and seemingly distant environment. The work demonstrates my fascination with impressionist imagery and historically romantic subject matter, combining essential elements of imagination and realism in dreamlike scenery and stark idealistic landscapes. My intent was to distort the senses of space and time through the artistic perspective, where a reverie of sorts brings together the memory of moments and the intrinsic essence of place.
