Lola Rose Bond Chimeras

Work by Lola Rose Bond

Chimeras focuses on the concept of self and the notion that each individual has multiple identities; for example, who you think you are versus who you are perceived to be. This conflict is particularly prevalent among young people as they struggle to define themselves in the world and against their peers. To develop this body of work I interviewed each model about how they view themselves. Then I interviewed each model’s closest friends in regards to how they view their friend. From my results I constructed two separate images: one displaying the model’s own personal identity and the other representing the identity that they broadcast to the external world.
