Molly Revoltar Ornithology

Biodiversity is an essential aspect of the Australian landscape. However, since European settlement, this country, previously diverse in wildlife, has become accountable for the highest extinction rate in the world. With 45 per cent of the world’s avian species found only in Australia, we are held responsible for their lives. Ornithology aims to capture the distinct features found within Australian birds to emphasise the urgency to protect the remaining avifauna. I have used my body of work to represent the land and simultaneously explore my personal captivation with our bird species.
