The ocean is a humbling force, yet the individual can make deep spiritual connections with its power in ways that cannot be described through words. I’m fascinated that there is a pure force and danger in the waves, and yet they have the ability to calm and comfort. Each of my images reflects the changing landscape of Tamarama beach, portraying different dream-like moods and atmospheres. Distorting reality, they not only portray the beauty of the landscape but also place an emphasis on imagination and emotion. JMW Turner was a source of inspiration due to the luminous, almost abstract romantic imagery in his paintings.
