Today’s natural landscapes are often destroyed by society’s innovations and technical developments, including urbanisation. However, we can underestimate the power nature has in destroying its own environments through disasters such as bushfires, floods and strong winds. It is becoming more difficult for us to view the picturesque landscape we wish to see in places prone to these disasters. In my work I depict the sublime qualities of the natural environment through panoramic landscapes. Symbolically, my landscapes convey how rapidly our beautiful surrounds can alter even with no human contact, confronting the viewer to consider the power of nature.
