Inspired by the whimsical works of James Gulliver Hancock, I created a comical timeline of architecture and technology mirroring the wonders of mankind. My work illustrates society’s path through history, emphasising creation rather than creator. The audience is lost in the intricate detail of my work, consumed and overwhelmed. In realising that each piece of architecture reflects its time, I was inspired to discover the cultural influences of the society behind it and the technology that made it. I want my audience to appreciate what came before them and to reflect before choosing their path into the future.
