During my HSC, art provided me with an escape. My aim was to find places I could escape to, environments that weren’t dominated by deadlines or timetables. In painting these works I discovered the ability of the human mind to create its own dimension when left to wander in the environment. As I look around, I can see and experience quiet moments of inspiration and emotion. I discovered that no matter what the landscape, it has the ability to inspire. The ordinary can be just as extraordinary as the fantastical – creating moments of fleeting illumination, memories frozen in time.
