Brianna Carson Gluttonous Maximus

There has been growing medical evidence in recent years linking a range of serious illnesses with obesity, particularly in western cultures. As such, gluttony stood out to me as a perfect concept for my body of work. My choice of ceramics allowed me to make a close connection between theme and media. The plates, an indirect instrument of gluttony, in my work are themselves the means of conveying the message. As a society, we are eating our way to early graves.
