Huw England Night walk

Work by Huw England

Night walk explores the common paranoia in today’s society of the perceived threats of terrorism and war, and the isolation felt as a result of this heightened fear. The use of black and white is a statement of the contrasting opinions in acts of terrorism and wars, where each side sees the other as a threat. Mixing film noir with a page from a graphic novel, Night walk is reminiscent of Frank Miller’s graphic novel series Sin City. It encourages the viewer to project their own interpretation of the events in each canvas and the work as a whole.
